Medical Devices: Laser Sales

In order to sell a piece of equipment you must know it like the back of your hand.  This is true for any sales job, especially medical sales.

"Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation" or a "LASER" is a mechanism which used the Quantum Mechanical Effect, and Stimulated Emission to produce a coherent beam of light from a lasing medium of controlled limpidness, form and dimension. The production of a laser is continuous and constant amplitude productivity, recognized as (CW or continuous wave).

Since 1960, when laser (it was called "a solution looking for a problem where invent), it began to be a solution to several different purpose.

Its utilities were in areas of scientific, industrial and commercial. Because of its high monochromaticity, reaching extremely high powers and convergence of these factors, is used as guide for transportation and spacecraft, to cut, burn or vaporize materials or to write informations in microscopic pits of a DVD and in surgical operations like: eyes surgery. Laser transmitted light beam (modulated signal) form a place to another place like the radio transmission. It also is used in chemistry and in plasma physics.

Work is also being done to produce lasers for things like communication not very different than radio transmission technology.  The transmitted light is modulated with a signal and received and demodulated to some distance away from the source. Lasers have also been seen in areas of plasma physics and/or chemistry.

The laser is one of the most regarded influential technology achievements in the past century.

Everybody thinks that laser should be visible in the vacuum of space, like in Movies of Star Wars, but the reality is that only in a dusty atmosphere it will appear.

A few milliwatts of a laser power will do some damage to a person's eyesight.

 Some common laser types are:

  • Gas Lasers: HeNe (543nm and 633nm), Argon-Ion (458nm, 488nm and 514.5nm), Carbon Dioxide Laser (9.6 µm or 10.6 µm) used for industrial cutting and welding, Carbon Monoxide Laser (up to 500 kW).
  • Excimer gas laser (semiconductor manufacturing or in LASIK eye surgery): F2 (157nm), KrCL 222nm), KrF (248).
  • Dermatological Producers Lasers
  • Neodyum-Doper Laser
  • Ytterbium-doped
  • Titanium-doped sapphire
  • Erbium-doped Fiber Laser.
  • External-cavity Semiconductor Laser
  • Dye Laser
  • Quantum Cascade Laser
